Fatwa on Contemporary Dance

Intervention

The Al Qaeda State ballet issued a Fatwa on Contemporary
dance on Sunday 28 September 2003 out side the Saddlers Wells, London -
prior to the Dance Umbrella Gala season where the luminaries of
contemporary dance were performing.

The Fatwa proclaimed that Contemporary dance in the UK is dead. It
also added that “decadent Western pattern making masquerading as
contemporary dance shall fall to perdition”. It urged the attendees to
come and see real contemporary dance of the Al Qaeda State Ballet.
